Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry developed by Stephen Ministries® St. Louis in 1975.  It has grown to include over 600,000 trained Stephen Ministers from more than 13,000 congregations and other organizations worldwide.  Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, are carefully screened, and receive 50 hours of initial training, continuing education, and peer supervision through regular meetings.

Stephen Ministers bring Christ’s love to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation.  This is done through weekly one-to-one meetings in which the Stephen Minister listens non-judgmentally and guides their care receiver through a process of discovery and resolution.  Stephen Ministers maintain absolute confidentiality about the relationship and what is discussed. The relationship continues until both the care receiver and Stephen Minister agree that Stephen Ministry care giving is no longer needed.

If you or someone you know could benefit from Stephen Ministry care giving, or if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, please contact the church office at(706) 864-2521 or fill out the form below and you will be connected with the appropriate person.
